Patara Horse Riding Programme Your guide meets you in the hotel lobby in the morning and you are driven to the horse ranch near Patara. On arrival, the team gives a short briefing about the area, the horses and the route you will follow, and every guest is fitted with a protective helmet. Horses are allocated individually, taking into account each rider's height, weight and level of experience, so that complete beginners are given the calmest animals. Before heading out, there is a short practice ride where your instructor shows you how to sit, steer and stop, and checks that everyone feels comfortable. The group then sets off on a ride of roughly five kilometres through the natural surroundings of Patara and along the beach, at a relaxed pace that leaves plenty of time to enjoy the scenery of sand dunes, open sea and the quiet countryside away from the resorts. Your guide stays with the group throughout, giving tips along the way. When the ride is over, you return to the ranch and are transferred back to your hotel.
