Our daily Fethiye Tuesday Market tour from Patara is a relaxed, fully guided day out that pairs one of the liveliest weekly bazaars on the Lycian coast with two of Fethiye's most characterful corners. This daily excursion suits travellers staying in the Patara and Gelemis area who want an easy Fethiye day trip built around shopping, local flavours and a little history, with an English-speaking guide and air-conditioned coach transport from your hotel and back.
The Tuesday market spreads along both banks of a canal close to the marina and has been a fixture of local life for decades. Villagers bring seasonal produce, home-made cheeses and honey, while other stalls sell fabrics, ceramics, leather goods and everyday household items at friendly prices. It is a genuine working market rather than a show for visitors, which is exactly what makes this day tour so enjoyable: you shop side by side with Fethiye families and can sample regional delicacies as you go.
From the market the route continues to Paspatur, Fethiye's old town, a compact maze of narrow lanes, restored stone houses and shaded courtyards filled with cafes and craft shops. Here you will stop at a gold centre to see both modern and classic Turkish jewellery designs. The last stop is Kayakoy, a hillside village of several hundred roofless stone houses and chapels that was left empty after its Greek inhabitants departed in the population exchange of 1923. Walking among the silent ruins gives a moving sense of how a once-busy town can be abandoned. Lunch is not included, so bring some money for food and purchases; the tour runs on Tuesdays only.

Fethiye Tuesday Market, Paspatur & Kayakoy Programme Your guide meets you in the hotel lobby in the morning and the air-conditioned coach sets off from Patara towards Fethiye. The first and longest stop is the famous Tuesday market, laid out on either side of a canal a short walk from the marina. Take your time between the stalls of seasonal fruit and vegetables, spices, olives, village cheeses and honey, then move on to the sections selling clothing, textiles, household goods and gifts to bring home. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is cheerful, and the seafront promenade nearby is pleasant for a short walk. After the market the group heads to Paspatur, the historic old town of Fethiye, where you visit a gold centre presenting international and traditional jewellery and can wander the narrow lanes lined with cafes and small shops. The final visit is to Kayakoy, the deserted Greek village often called the Ghost Town, where hundreds of empty stone houses climb the hillside and offer a rare glimpse of a town frozen in time. In the late afternoon the coach takes you back to your hotel in Patara.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
