My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
6 Days Giresun Tour: Black Sea Castles, Cooking Class, Hamam and Sumela Monastery Private Tour
Highlights of the 6 Days Giresun Tour
This six-day holiday uses Giresun as a base for five nights and opens up the best of the eastern Black Sea: seaside castles, a cable car ride in Ordu, a taste of local cooking, the ritual of the Turkish bath and a mountain excursion to the famous Sumela Monastery. With airport transfers, an English-speaking guide and an air-conditioned non-smoking vehicle included, it is a well-paced way to explore a region of hazelnut orchards, forested valleys and coastal towns.
Your first excursion runs along the coast from Tirebolu Castle, a fortress on a rocky cape, to Giresun Castle above the city, with an optional boat trip to Giresun Island for those who want it. In Ordu the cable car lifts you to Boztepe for views over the bay, and after free time and a beach walk you stop at a chocolate factory on the way back. The following days bring a cooking class in a local restaurant, where you prepare Giresun dishes, salads and desserts and eat them for lunch, and a relaxing visit to a hamam with its cold, warm and hot rooms and the traditional scrub by the tellak or natır.
The fifth day heads inland to Trabzon province. Sumela Monastery, built into a sheer rock face above a forested valley near Altındere in Maçka, is admired first from a viewing balcony by the waterfall and then visited inside. Lunch can be taken at the Zigana highland holiday village, and after the Zigana Tunnel and a fruit-paste shop you explore Karaca Cave with its rich variety of stalactites, stalagmites and columns. Five nights of hotel accommodation, five breakfasts, one lunch and entrance fees for the sites in the itinerary are included.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your full program, day by day — click a day to see every stop.
Day 1 Arrival - Tirebolu, Giresun, Ordu ▾
On arrival at Ordu-Giresun Airport you are met and transferred to your hotel in Giresun, your base for the next five nights. Check in and spend the rest of the day as you like, whether resting, enjoying the view of the sea or walking in the streets nearby. No excursions are scheduled on the day of arrival. Overnight in Giresun.
Day 2 Tirebolu, Giresun, Ordu - Giresun — Cooking Lesson 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast the tour sets off for Tirebolu Castle, the small fortress perched on a rocky headland by the sea. About forty minutes later you reach Giresun, where those who wish can join a boat trip to Giresun Island (optional, extra cost). Next you climb to Giresun Castle to look out over the city and stop for lunch with a view (not included). In the afternoon the road continues to Ordu: a cable car carries you up to Boztepe, followed by free time, a short walk in the city centre and along the beach. On the way back you stop at a chocolate factory, arriving in Giresun around 8 p.m. Overnight in Giresun.
Day 3 Giresun — Cooking Lesson - Giresun — Turkish Bath 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
After breakfast you go to a local restaurant where the chef teaches a cooking class, and your guide explains every detail along the way. You prepare dishes from the Giresun kitchen, including salads and desserts, and then enjoy the meal you have cooked as your lunch at the restaurant. Afterwards you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day to yourself. Overnight in Giresun.
Day 4 Giresun — Turkish Bath - Sumela Monastery, Zigana, Karaca Cave 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast you are collected from the hotel and taken to a Turkish bath. The hamam is arranged in cold, warm and hot sections, a layout inherited from the baths of the Roman era. Once you have warmed up, the attendants, called tellak for men and natır for women, carry out the traditional scrub and peeling ritual. Relaxed and refreshed, you are driven back to the hotel. Overnight in Giresun.
Day 5 Sumela Monastery, Zigana, Karaca Cave - Giresun 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast you are picked up for a full-day excursion into the mountains of Trabzon province. Sumela Monastery clings to a cliff near the village of Altındere in the Maçka district, around 40 to 45 minutes from Trabzon. On arrival you pause by the waterfall and at a viewing balcony that frames the whole monastery, then visit the monastery itself. About half an hour’s drive brings you to the Zigana highland holiday village for lunch (not included). After lunch you pass through the Zigana Tunnel, make a short stop at a fruit-paste shop and continue to Karaca Cave, admired for its stalactites, stalagmites, columns and flowstone walls; its air is said to bring relief to asthma sufferers. You then return to your hotel. Overnight in Giresun.
Day 6 Departure - Giresun 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast you check out and are taken to Ordu-Giresun Airport for your flight home. Our services end at the airport. We hope the castles, mountains and flavours of the Black Sea will stay with you, and we look forward to travelling with you again.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
