My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
4 Days Kayseri City Tour: Kultepe Kanesh, Soganli Valley & Turkish Cooking Class Private Tour
Highlights of the 4-Day Kayseri City Tour
Kayseri, the ancient Caesarea at the foot of snow-capped Mount Erciyes, is a city of dark volcanic stone, Seljuk monuments and lively bazaars that most travellers only pass through on their way to Cappadocia. This four-day stay turns it into the destination itself. After an easy arrival day you spend one full guided day among four thousand years of history, a second day learning to cook Turkish food with a professional chef, and leave on the fourth morning with a far deeper picture of Central Anatolia than a quick stopover could ever give.
The touring day starts 20 kilometres outside the city at Kultepe, the mound of ancient Kanesh. Here the remains of an Assyrian merchant colony, the karum, lie next to a great tumulus, and the clay tablets found on the site are counted among the oldest written records of Anatolia. Back in Kayseri you walk along the ramparts of the castle, first raised in the 3rd century and rebuilt in the 6th, before driving out to Soganli Valley with around fifty churches and dwellings carved into the rock. The day closes in the old centre with the Ulu Mosque, Gulluk Inn, the Hacikilic, Kursunlu and Kale mosques, a series of Seljuk vaulted tombs such as Cifte, Sircali and Sah Kutlu Hatun, and the mausoleums of Melik Mehmet Gazi and Seyyit Burhanettin.
On the third day a local restaurant opens its kitchen for you. Guided by the chef and your tour guide, you prepare a full menu of traditional dishes with salads and desserts, then sit down to eat what you have cooked; the rest of the afternoon is free. Three nights of hotel accommodation in Kayseri, daily breakfast, the cooking lunch, arrival and departure transfers, a professional English-speaking guide and the entrance fees mentioned in the programme are all arranged for you.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your full program, day by day β click a day to see every stop.
Day 1 Arrival - Kultepe, Kayseri Castle, Soganli Valley & city centre βΎ
Your driver meets you at Kayseri Airport and takes you into the city for check-in at your hotel. With no sightseeing planned, the rest of the day is yours to recover from the journey, take a first look at the streets of the centre or simply enjoy the view of Mount Erciyes rising above the plain. Overnight in Kayseri.
Day 2 Kultepe, Kayseri Castle, Soganli Valley & city centre - Cooking class in Kayseri π½ Breakfast βΎ
After breakfast you are collected at 08:30 and drive to Kultepe, whose name means hill of ashes. Settled from around 4000 BC, ancient Kanesh grew into the seat of a powerful Anatolian kingdom, and beside its 22-metre tumulus you can still trace the houses, streets and shops of the Assyrian trading quarter, rediscovered in 1881. Finds range from the Assyrian to the Hittite, Persian and Roman periods. Returning to the city you visit Kayseri Castle with its inner and outer walls and bastions, then head to Soganli Valley, where around fifty rock-cut churches and caves wait to be explored. In the late afternoon the guide shows you the monuments of the centre: the Ulu Mosque, Gulluk Inn, the Hacikilic, Kursunlu and Kale mosques, the Seljuk tombs known as kumbets and the mausoleums of Melik Mehmet Gazi and Seyyit Burhanettin. Overnight in Kayseri.
Day 3 Cooking class in Kayseri - Departure from Kayseri π½ Breakfast Β· Lunch βΎ
Following breakfast you drive to a local restaurant for a cooking lesson led by its chef, with your guide translating and explaining each step. Together you prepare a menu of traditional dishes, salads and desserts, learning the techniques and ingredients behind them, and then enjoy the meal you have made as your lunch. Afterwards you return to the hotel and have free time for the rest of the day, for example to browse the local bazaars. Overnight in Kayseri.
Day 4 Departure - Kayseri π½ Breakfast βΎ
After breakfast you check out of the hotel and are driven to the airport for your onward or homeward flight, ending four days in one of the oldest cities of Central Anatolia.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized β from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
