This five-day tour shows the Eastern Black Sea at a relaxed pace. Every night is spent at the same centrally located hotel in Trabzon, so you unpack once, head out each morning to a different valley or plateau, and return in the evening to a lively city square full of restaurants and cafés.
The first excursion follows the Solaklı Valley to Uzungöl, a lake ringed by forest, wooden village houses and tea gardens, with stops at a tea factory and a Sürmene knife workshop along the way. The next day runs east along the coast into Fırtına (Storm) Valley, a protected ecological region where rafting and zipline are possible, and up to Ayder Plateau at 1,400 m, home to the Gelintülü Waterfall at the foot of the Kaçkar Mountains.
Day four visits Sumela Monastery, clinging to a cliff inside Altındere National Park, then drives through the 14.5 km New Zigana Tunnel towards Gümüşhane and the Torul Glass Terrace before lunch in Hamsiköy, known for its rice pudding. The final day is a full Trabzon city tour: the Atatürk Mansion, the Botanical Park, the tunnel aquarium, the City Museum, the 13th-century Hagia Sophia with its frescoes, Sera Lake and the Boztepe viewpoint, with an airport transfer in the evening.

Arrive at Trabzon Airport or the intercity bus terminal, where our team meets you and transfers you to your hotel in the city centre (check-in from 14:00). The rest of the day is free to relax or explore Meydan, Trabzon's main square, with its restaurants, cafés and shops. Overnight in Trabzon.
After breakfast, drive towards Uzungöl with a stop at a tea factory to learn how Black Sea tea is produced and brewed, followed by a short shopping break at a Sürmene knife outlet. Continue through the Solaklı Valley past wooden village houses, tea plantations and hazelnut groves. In Uzungöl, visit the observation terrace and the man-made cascades that guard the lake against flooding, then enjoy free time by the water. Depart around 16:00 and return to Trabzon. Overnight in Trabzon.
Travel east along the coast to Fırtına (Storm) Valley, one of the world's protected ecological regions, where rafting, zipline and swing activities are available during the break. Continue via Çamlıhemşin to Ayder Plateau at 1,400 m, visit the Gelintülü Waterfall at the foot of the Kaçkar Mountains and enjoy free time for a walk or a tea by the falls. Leave Ayder around 16:00 and return to Trabzon. Overnight in Trabzon.
Drive about an hour to Altındere National Park and take the park shuttle towards Sumela Monastery, finishing with a 300 m forest path. Explore the guard rooms, library, kitchen, holy spring and the main rock church; entrance tickets are bought at the park entrance. Then pass through the 14.5 km New Zigana Tunnel towards Gümüşhane for Karaca Cave (currently closed for maintenance; while it remains closed, more time is spent in Zigana instead) and the Torul Glass Terrace. After a lunch break in Hamsiköy, famous for its rice pudding, return to your hotel. Overnight in Trabzon.
Check out after breakfast and visit the Atatürk Mansion and its gardens, the Trabzon Botanical Park, the tunnel aquarium between the Zağnos and Tabakhane valleys with views of the castle and Ortahisar district, and the Trabzon City Museum. Continue to the 13th-century Hagia Sophia, now a mosque, known for its early Renaissance frescoes, then have lunch at Sera Lake and end at the Boztepe Observation Terrace. The tour finishes between 18:00 and 19:00; airport transfers run between 19:00 and 23:00, so book return flights departing 20:30 or later.
