My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
4 Days Bayburt City & Cooking Tour: Baksı Museum, Aydıntepe & Castle Private Tour
Discover Bayburt, a Quiet City of Northeastern Anatolia
Bayburt is one of Turkey's smallest provincial capitals, set on the Çoruh River on the old trade route between Trabzon and Erzurum. This short private tour stays three nights in the city and offers one guided sightseeing day and a cooking class, with transfers from and to the Bayburt-Gümüşhane Airport.
The sightseeing day begins in the hills at the Baksı Museum, founded by artist Hüsamettin Koçan to bring contemporary art and traditional crafts together in a rural village, and an award-winning example of a museum rooted in its community. It continues to the underground city of Aydıntepe, carved into the soft rock, and ends in town at the massive Bayburt Castle and the Clock Tower.
The cooking class introduces galacoş, Bayburt's signature dish of bread layers baked with butter and walnuts, together with a local dessert, followed by free time for shopping. The rest of your stay is free to walk along the Çoruh River or relax in the city's tea gardens.
Bayburt is also tied by local tradition to Dede Korkut, the legendary storyteller of the Oghuz Turks, whose tales are celebrated in the region every year. Its high plateaus, the Çoruh valley and quiet villages make it a rewarding stop for travellers exploring the route between the Black Sea and Erzurum.
Breakfasts, one lunch, guiding, entrance fees and transfers are included; other meals are paid locally.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
