Gaziantep is one of the great food capitals of Turkey and a city whose history reaches far back into antiquity. This four-day programme keeps you based in a single hotel for three nights, so you can enjoy the city without packing and unpacking. It combines one full guided sightseeing day with one culinary day, framed by airport transfers on arrival and departure and accompanied by a professional English-speaking guide.
The sightseeing day starts at the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, one of the largest mosaic museums in the world. Its galleries display floors, wall paintings and finds rescued from the Roman city of Zeugma on the Euphrates, and the scale of the restored villa rooms surprises most visitors. From there you continue to Gaziantep Castle, the fortress on its mound in the centre of the old town, whose walls and towers tell the story of many centuries of rulers. After a lunch break you stroll through the Zincirli Bazaar and the Bakırcılar (Coppersmiths’) Bazaar, two historic market streets where copper trays, pots and other crafts are still made and sold.
On the third day the focus turns to the kitchen. In a local restaurant the chef leads a cooking class while your guide translates and explains every step. Together you prepare a menu of regional Gaziantep dishes, including salads and desserts, and then sit down to eat the lunch you have cooked. The tour includes three nights of hotel accommodation in Gaziantep, three buffet breakfasts and the cooking-class lunch, guiding, transport in an air-conditioned non-smoking vehicle, hotel and transfer taxes, and the entrance fees for the sites in the programme, making it an easy and well-rounded short break in southeastern Turkey.

Welcome to Gaziantep. Our representative meets you at Gaziantep Airport and drives you into the city in an air-conditioned vehicle. After check-in at your hotel the rest of the day is free, so you can rest after the journey or take a first walk through the streets around your hotel. There are no planned visits on the arrival day, which makes it easy to fit any flight time. Overnight in Gaziantep.
Your guide collects you from the hotel early in the morning. The first visit is the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, where Roman mosaics and other finds from the ancient city of Zeugma are exhibited in reconstructed villa spaces. Next comes Gaziantep Castle, the old citadel at the heart of the city, where you walk among its walls and towers. After a lunch break (not included) the tour continues on foot through the Zincirli Bazaar and the Bakırcılar Bazaar, known for their copperwork and traditional crafts. After breakfast you transfer to a local restaurant for a hands-on cooking lesson. The restaurant’s chef shows you how to prepare dishes from the Gaziantep kitchen, while your guide explains ingredients and techniques. The menu also includes salads and desserts. When everything is ready you sit down together and enjoy the lunch you have prepared. In the afternoon you return to the hotel and have free time for your own discoveries. Overnight in Gaziantep.
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before check-out. At the agreed time you are transferred to Gaziantep Airport for your onward or homeward flight, taking with you the flavours and stories of this historic city. Our services end at the airport.
