About Çimenlik Müzesi

Çimenlik Müzesi, also known as Çimenlik Castle, is a historic fortress built by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in 1462. Located near the Çanakkale pier, it now functions as a military museum within the Çanakkale Naval Museum complex and documents Turkish maritime history through its collections and exhibits.

The castle grounds display physical remnants of its wartime past, including period ammunition, shipwreck material and damaged structures from historical conflicts. Visitors can walk the garden and grounds to appreciate the site's role in the region's naval and military heritage, particularly relating to the Dardanelles campaign.
