About Bigali Ataturk House and Museum

The Bigalı Atatürk House and Museum is located in Bigalı village, roughly 4.5 kilometres from the Dardanelles Strait in Çanakkale Province. The village served as headquarters for the 19th Division in April 1915, and the house where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed has become an important point of interest on the Gallipoli peninsula.

The museum uses modern museological methods, with specialised lighting and display cases, and chronologically presents Atatürk's participation in the Gallipoli battles and his command activities. Exhibits include lifelike mannequins and animations illustrating the plan of the campaign, as well as personal belongings of Atatürk. The stone building and its peaceful village setting create a distinctive atmosphere, and a typical visit takes under an hour. The museum is open daily from 09:00 to 18:30.
