Arkas Deniz Tarihi Merkezi

The Arkas Maritime History Center (Arkas Deniz Tarihi Merkezi) is located in a traditional mansion in Bornova, Izmir, housed within a two-story building dedicated to maritime heritage. The facility features paintings of vessels from around the world, scale models of ships spanning from ancient times to the present day and various seafaring instruments. The building itself is architecturally impressive, and visitors can also enjoy a small garden on the grounds.

The center is ideal for those interested in maritime history and art. Notable exhibits include model ships representing different historical periods and sailing equipment displayed throughout the space, including a model of the R/V Calypso, the research vessel of Jacques Cousteau. The center is situated across from the historic Mattheys Mansion, allowing visitors to combine both attractions, and entrance is free.
