Ahmet Pristina City Archive & Museum

The Ahmet Pristina City Archive & Museum (APIKAM) is located in Izmir and serves as a repository for the city's cultural heritage. Housed in a restored Art Deco fire station, the museum focuses on preserving urban history through archives of books, photographs, films, and historical documents related to Izmir's past. It was established as part of broader efforts to protect the city's cultural legacy.

The museum's primary exhibition explores the evolution of Izmir's transportation systems, featuring explanatory panels, vintage photographs, scale models, and original vehicles including a 1938 Chrysler. Additional displays examine the city's history, olive oil production heritage, and traditional healing practices. A documentary video provides context about Ottoman-era Smyrna, and the facility includes an upstairs library with materials in Turkish and several European languages.

Admission is free. While most exhibits are labeled in Turkish, English-language pamphlets are available at reception, making it an accessible place to explore Izmir's multicultural heritage and its development as a significant Aegean port.
