My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
A relaxed six-day base in Canakkale, the gateway to the Dardanelles, built around two of the Aegean's greatest ancient sites: legendary Troy, the city of Homer's Iliad, and clifftop Assos, where Aristotle once taught above the sea. Between the ruins there is time for the slow pleasures of the region — a Turkish cooking lesson, a traditional hammam, and the waterfront of Canakkale itself. Planned in-house by Inca Tour, a TURSAB-licensed operator, and guided in English throughout, this is a tour for travellers who want depth over distance.
The journey centres on Troy, the ancient city excavated on the mound of Hisarlik, where nine layers of settlement span some five thousand years and a reconstructed Wooden Horse recalls the Trojan War of legend. A short drive down the coast brings you to Assos, founded in the sixth century BC, whose Doric Temple of Athena crowns a volcanic ridge with one of the finest views in the Aegean — out across the water to the Greek island of Lesbos.
Below the acropolis lies the stone village of Behramkale and the restored Assos antique harbour, a cluster of small hotels and fish restaurants around a tiny bay. Back in Canakkale the pace turns local: a professional cooking lesson in traditional Aegean dishes, a visit to a historic Turkish bath with its hot and cold rooms, and free time along the Dardanelles promenade with its monuments to the 1915 campaign. It is an unusual, unhurried way to know a corner of Turkey that most tours pass through in a single afternoon.

Ancient City (Breakfast) After breakfast you drive a short distance to ancient Troy, the UNESCO World Heritage site made famous by Homer's Iliad. With your guide you explore the nine layers of this five-thousand-year-old city — its walls, gates and temples — and see the reconstructed Wooden Horse. The afternoon is free in Canakkale. Overnight in Canakkale.
Today you take part in a hands-on Turkish cooking lesson, preparing traditional Aegean dishes with a local chef and sitting down to enjoy them for lunch. The afternoon is free for shopping and a walk through the city centre and its old bazaar. Overnight in Canakkale.
After breakfast you visit a historic Turkish bath (hammam), experiencing the hot room, a traditional foam scrub and the cool room in the centuries-old ritual of the Ottoman bathhouse. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore Canakkale at your own pace. Overnight in Canakkale.
A scenic drive down the coast brings you to ancient Assos, where the Doric Temple of Athena crowns the acropolis with sweeping views over the Aegean to the island of Lesbos. You wander the stone lanes of Behramkale village and the restored antique harbour, with time for local embroidery and the region's prized lemon thyme. Overnight in Canakkale.
After breakfast your tour comes to an end. You check out and are transferred to the airport for your onward flight. We wish you a safe journey home.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
