My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
5 Days Dalyan City, Cooking & Hamam Tour: Rock Tombs, Turtle Beach & Koycegiz Lake Private Tour
Highlights of the 5-Day Dalyan City, Cooking & Hamam Tour
This five-day stay in Dalyan combines three sides of life on the southwest Turkish coast: ancient monuments, home cooking and the bathing culture of the hamam. Based for four nights in a hotel in Dalyan, a small river town in Mugla province reached easily from Dalaman Airport, you have enough time to see the essentials without rushing. One guided day takes you by boat past the famous cliff tombs and through the ruins of Kaunos to Iztuzu Beach and Koycegiz Lake, a second day puts you behind a stove with a local cook, and a third is reserved for a traditional Turkish bath followed by time to wander and shop at leisure.
Kaunos was a harbour city on the border of Caria and Lycia, and tradition names its founder as Kaunos, a twin child of Miletos, in the 4th century BC. The monumental tombs its rulers and nobles commissioned were chiselled into near-vertical rock above the river and remain the defining image of Dalyan. After the ruins, the boats continue to Iztuzu Beach, a sandbar shared by daytime bathers and, after dark, by nesting loggerhead turtles; between May and September there is a chance of seeing a Caretta Caretta. The excursion ends at Koycegiz Lake, a body of water formed by ancient earthquakes and fed by rivers, mountain streams and warm springs, where about an hour of free time is set aside.
Food is the theme of the third day. At a local restaurant you learn to prepare dishes typical of the area, such as okra, pea and spinach recipes, blue crab and other seafood, and stuffed zucchini flowers, then eat them for lunch. On the fourth day a visit to a hamam, timed to suit you and the bath's opening hours, is followed by free time in the town centre. Included are transfers from and to Dalaman Airport, four nights of hotel accommodation with breakfast, one lunch, an English-speaking guide, air-conditioned transport, the guided city, cooking and Turkish bath tours and the entrance fees in the programme.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your full program, day by day — click a day to see every stop.
Day 1 Arrival - Kaunos – Iztuzu Beach – Koycegiz Lake ▾
A representative meets you at Dalaman Airport and accompanies you on the drive to your hotel in Dalyan. After check-in your room key is handed over and the remainder of the day is unscheduled, giving you time to recover from the flight. You might take an easy walk along the river, find a café with a view of the rock-cut tombs on the opposite bank or simply relax at the hotel. Overnight in Dalyan.
Day 2 Kaunos – Iztuzu Beach – Koycegiz Lake - Dalyan (cooking class) 🍽 Breakfast ▾
Breakfast is followed by a pick-up at your hotel and a short ride to the boarding point of the river boats. Gliding along the channel, you first stop below the tombs of Kaunos, carved into rock faces that lean at about 80 degrees and regarded by archaeologists as evidence of the city's former riches. Next you visit the remains of Kaunos, once a coastal settlement on the Carian–Lycian frontier. The boats then head to Iztuzu Beach, a nesting site of the loggerhead turtle, where sightings are possible from May to September. The final stop is Koycegiz Lake, with roughly an hour at leisure before you are driven back to the hotel. Overnight in Dalyan.
Day 3 Dalyan (cooking class) - Dalyan (Turkish bath) 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
After breakfast you are taken to a local restaurant where a professional cook leads your Turkish cooking class. The menu reflects the local kitchen: vegetable dishes made with okra, peas or spinach, seafood with an emphasis on the region's blue crab, and zucchini flowers stuffed with seasoned rice. Once the cooking is done you share the dishes as your lunch. The afternoon brings free time for shopping in the town centre before you return to your hotel. Overnight in Dalyan.
Day 4 Dalyan (Turkish bath) - Dalyan – Dalaman Airport 🍽 Breakfast ▾
Following breakfast you are collected for a visit to a hamam, the Turkish bath that has been part of everyday life across the country for centuries. The exact time is arranged according to your preference and the bath's opening hours. Afterwards you are dropped in the town centre for free time and shopping, and the rest of the day is yours to spend as you like. Overnight in Dalyan.
Day 5 Dalyan – Dalaman Airport - Dalaman 🍽 Breakfast ▾
Have a final breakfast at the hotel and enjoy any free time your flight schedule allows. At the arranged hour you are picked up and driven to Dalaman Airport for your departure, taking home memories of Dalyan's tombs, turtles, kitchens and baths.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
