About Müze Gazhane

Muze Gazhane is a cultural center in Kadikoy on Istanbul's Asian side. The facility occupies a historic red brick building originally constructed in 1892 as a gas power plant that supplied energy to the city. Following a comprehensive renovation by the Istanbul municipality, the former industrial complex has been transformed into a vibrant cultural venue.

The center hosts diverse activities including theater performances, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, and lectures. A permanent exhibition focuses on climate change and typically takes one to one-and-a-half hours to explore. The expansive courtyard preserves traces of the industrial heritage while accommodating contemporary programming, and the complex includes cafes and a marketplace. Most activities are free, and the venue is accessible by public transportation.
