Asiyan Museum

The Asiyan Museum is a small house-museum located in the Bebek neighborhood of Istanbul, set on a hillside near the Rumeli Hisari fortress. This renovated two-story residence with a basement was the home of Tevfik Fikret, a prominent Turkish poet and man of letters of the late 19th century. The museum offers insight into the domestic life of the Ottoman elite of that period, with traditional kilims and period furnishings throughout the rooms.

The museum's most distinctive feature is its panoramic views of the Bosphorus, visible from several vantage points including the bedrooms and garden. Entry is free, and audio guides are available in Turkish and English. The poet's tomb is located in the surrounding gardens, adding to the site's historical significance.

Reaching the museum requires climbing a steep hillside road, which may be challenging for those with mobility limitations, and nearby parking is limited.
