The Cappadocia camel safari at sunset is a relaxed two-hour shared ride that lets you watch the valleys change colour as the sun goes down. You join a small camel caravan near Ortahisar and ride slowly through Meskenler Valley, with the Red and Rose Valleys glowing in the evening light around you.
Meskenler Valley lies close to Ortahisar, a village crowned by a towering rock castle once used as a lookout and storehouse. As the light softens in the late afternoon, the pink and reddish tuff of the Rose and Red Valleys takes on its richest tones, making this one of the most photogenic short activities in the region.

Sunset Camel Safari ProgrammeIn the late afternoon your driver collects you from your hotel in Cappadocia and takes you to the camel station near Ortahisar. The handlers give a short safety briefing on mounting, sitting and dismounting, introduce you to your camel and hand you a traditional hat to wear. The caravan then sets off at an easy pace into Meskenler Valley, with wide views across the Red and Rose Valleys and towards Ortahisar Castle. The guides stop at the best viewpoints so you can take photos from the saddle as the sun sets over the valleys. At the end of the ride you are driven back to your hotel.
