Your first two days belong to Istanbul, where you step straight into the old city's icons — Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the ancient Hippodrome and the labyrinth of the Grand Bazaar. On day three you drive east to Cappadocia via Ankara, pausing at Ankara Castle and the world-class Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and skirting the shimmering Salt Lake (Tuz Gölü) along the way.
Cappadocia unfolds across the open-air rock churches of the Göreme Open-Air Museum, the fairy chimneys of Pigeon Valley and Monks Valley (Paşabağ). You then continue to Konya to visit the Mevlâna Museum, resting place of the poet Rumi, before reaching the dazzling white travertine terraces and Roman ruins of Pamukkale & Hierapolis. In Ottoman Bursa you explore the historic Grand Bazaar and the monumental Great Mosque (Ulu Camii).
On day seven you return to Istanbul for a final flourish — the fragrant Spice Market and a relaxing Bosphorus cruise between two continents — before your day-eight departure transfer.

Welcome to Turkey! On arrival at Istanbul Airport you are met by our representative and transferred in comfort to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to settle in and begin exploring the city that famously straddles two continents. Take an evening stroll along the Bosphorus, sample your first Turkish tea, or simply relax after your journey. Overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast we set out on a full-day tour of Istanbul's magnificent Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage area. We begin at Topkapi Palace, the opulent residence of Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years, with its treasury, harem quarters and sweeping Bosphorus views. We continue to the awe-inspiring Hagia Sophia, a masterpiece that has served as both cathedral and mosque across 1,500 years, and the elegant Blue Mosque with its cascade of domes and six minarets. We walk through the ancient Hippodrome Square, once the chariot-racing heart of Byzantine Constantinople, before losing ourselves in the colour and bustle of the Grand Bazaar, one of the world's oldest and largest covered markets. After breakfast we depart Istanbul and journey east across the Anatolian heartland towards Cappadocia. En route we stop in the capital, Ankara, to see the historic Ankara Castle and the world-class Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, whose collection traces human history from the Hittites to the Phrygians. We also pause at the shimmering expanse of Lake Tuz (Salt Lake), the second-largest lake in Turkey, before arriving in the otherworldly landscape of Cappadocia in the evening. After breakfast we explore the extraordinary volcanic wonderland of Cappadocia. We visit the Goreme Open-Air Museum, a cluster of rock-cut churches adorned with vivid Byzantine frescoes, then admire the fairy chimneys of Pigeon Valley and the striking mushroom-shaped formations of Monks Valley (Pasabag). In the afternoon we drive south to Konya, following part of the ancient Silk Road. Dinner and overnight in Konya.
After breakfast we visit the Mevlana Museum in Konya, the resting place of the great mystic poet Rumi and the spiritual home of the whirling dervishes — one of Turkey's most revered pilgrimage sites. We then journey west to Pamukkale, the "Cotton Castle," and tour its dazzling white travertine terraces of mineral-rich thermal water alongside the sprawling Greco-Roman ruins of ancient Hierapolis. Dinner and overnight near Pamukkale.
After breakfast we travel north to the first Ottoman capital, Bursa, a green city framed by Mount Uludag. We enjoy a full-day tour taking in Bursa's historic covered market, the Grand Bazaar (Kapali Carsi) famous for silk and towels, and the monumental Great Mosque (Ulu Camii) with its twenty domes and celebrated calligraphy. There is time to sample the city's famous Iskender kebab before the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Bursa.
After breakfast we return to Istanbul, crossing back towards the Marmara shore. In the afternoon we visit the aromatic Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar), a feast of colours, scents and Turkish delight, and then enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Bosphorus, gliding between Europe and Asia past Ottoman palaces, waterfront mansions and historic fortresses. Overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast you have free time until your departure transfer. Depending on your flight, you may wish to pick up last-minute souvenirs or enjoy a final Turkish breakfast before we transfer you to Istanbul Airport for your flight home, carrying with you the memories of an unforgettable journey across Turkey.
