Designed for independent travellers and backpackers who want a simple, well-priced base by the sea, this seven-day package covers six nights at Salmakis Beach Resort & Spa in Bodrum with breakfast and dinner every day, return transfers and two included experiences. Everything else is up to you, with optional extras that can be booked once you arrive.
The included programme starts with a traditional hamam: heat on the marble slab, a thorough scrub, a foam massage and a glass of tea afterwards. Later in the week a short drive takes you to a mountain village behind the resort, where you visit the teahouse, the mosque and village homes, taste home cooking and local spirits, and see kilims and carpets woven by the village women.
On the other days you can relax at the beach or add activities: an off-road jeep safari across the eastern peninsula with a swim at Mazı Bay, a boat trip to the bays of the Bodrum coast and the warm mineral grotto of Black Island, or a Turkish night with folk dances from across the country, a belly-dance show, meze and drinks.
Bodrum itself has plenty to explore on foot – the marina, the Castle of St. Peter with its underwater archaeology museum, the site of the Mausoleum and a lively waterfront. Getting around is easy and cheap thanks to the dolmuş minibuses linking Bodrum town with Gümbet, Bitez, Ortakent and Turgutreis beaches. Flights, lunches and optional activities are not included.

A day at leisure, or join an optional jeep safari from about 10:00: a mostly off-road route of around 130 km across the eastern peninsula, with coffee in Çiftlikköy, the highest viewpoint, the villages of Etrim and Mumcular and lunch with a swim at Mazı Bay, back around 17:00. Relax at the beach or take an optional boat trip (lunch on board included in its price), setting off around 11:00 to swim and snorkel in several bays and bathe in the warm mineral grotto of Black Island, returning about 17:00. Dinner and overnight in Bodrum.
