This private eight-day tour starts and ends in Istanbul but saves the city for last, first heading south to Bursa and across Anatolia to Pamukkale, Konya and Cappadocia before returning via Ankara, the forests of Bolu and Lake Sapanca. Most meals are included, with an English-speaking guide on every sightseeing day and private transport throughout.
In Bursa, the first Ottoman capital, you visit the Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami) and the historic Koza Han silk bazaar with a Turkish delight tasting. Pamukkale follows, with the white travertine terraces and the ruins of Hierapolis, and then Konya with the great Seljuk caravanserai of Sultanhanı and the Mevlana Museum, resting place of Rumi.
A full day in Cappadocia covers Uçhisar Castle, Pigeon Valley, Göreme village, Paşabağ and Devrent valleys, an Avanos pottery workshop and the Göreme Open-Air Museum with its frescoed rock churches; an early-morning balloon flight can be booked as an extra. In Ankara you see Anıtkabir, the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and Ankara Castle.
After a night in Bolu and a stop at Lake Sapanca, you arrive in Istanbul for a Bosphorus cruise. The last full day explores the Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapı Palace, a traditional market and Emirgan Park, famous for its tulips. The route avoids long flights and shows how varied Turkey's landscapes are, from the green slopes of Uludağ and the forests of Bolu to the volcanic valleys of Cappadocia.

Arrive at Istanbul Airport in the afternoon and drive to Bursa. See the twenty-domed Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami), Bursa's best-known monument, then check in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Bursa.
Start early with a visit to Koza Han, the historic silk bazaar, with a Turkish delight tasting, then drive to Pamukkale for lunch. In the afternoon, explore the ruins of Hierapolis and the white travertine terraces. Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale.
Head east to Konya, stopping at the monumental Seljuk caravanserai of Sultanhanı, a 13th-century Silk Road inn. In Konya, visit the Mevlana Museum, dedicated to the Sufi poet Rumi, then continue to Cappadocia, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.
An optional hot-air balloon flight can be booked for early morning (about 04:30–09:00). After breakfast, visit Uçhisar Castle, the highest point of the region, Pigeon Valley and the cave houses of Göreme village, then Paşabağ (Monks' Valley) and Devrent Valley with its animal-shaped rocks. After lunch in Avanos and a pottery workshop, explore the Göreme Open-Air Museum with the Apple, Snake and St. Barbara churches (the Dark Church is extra). Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.
Drive to Ankara for Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Atatürk, the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and Ankara Castle with its views over the city. Continue to Bolu. Dinner and overnight in Bolu.
Drive to Lake Sapanca to enjoy its peaceful setting, then continue to Istanbul. In the afternoon, take a Bosphorus cruise past palaces, bridges and waterfront mansions. Dinner and overnight in Istanbul.
Visit the Hippodrome with its three ancient monuments, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapı Palace with its treasury and sacred relics.
