My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
6 Days Cappadocia, Mount Nemrut, Zeugma & Gobeklitepe Tour with Flights from Istanbul Group Tour
Highlights of the 6 Days Cappadocia, Mount Nemrut, Zeugma & Gobeklitepe Tour
This six-day journey combines two full days among the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia with the great archaeological sites of south-eastern Turkey, with domestic flights from Istanbul to Cappadocia and from Sanliurfa back to Istanbul already included. You land at Kayseri Airport and start straight away with a panoramic stop in Goreme overlooking Pigeon Valley, the Rose and Red Valleys and the villages of Goreme and Uchisar. The first day continues underground at Kaymakli, a UNESCO-listed underground city remarkable for its carefully planned layout, then moves on to Uchisar Castle, a pottery demonstration on the kick wheel in Avanos, the mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys of Pasabag (Monks Valley) and the animal-like rock shapes of Devrent Valley.
On the second day you walk through the Red and Rose Valleys with their dovecotes and rock-cut churches, see the abandoned cliff village of Cavusin and visit the Goreme Open Air Museum, on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1985 and home to the best-preserved painted churches of the region, before learning how hand-made Cappadocian carpets are woven at a carpet cooperative. An early hot-air balloon flight can be booked as an option. Then the route turns east to Kahta for a sunset visit to Mount Nemrut, the hierotheseion of King Antiochus I of Commagene, where colossal statues of Apollo, Zeus, Heracles, the goddess Tyche and the king himself, flanked by a lion and an eagle, stand before a funerary mound about 49 metres high.
In Gaziantep you spend time in the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, one of the largest mosaic museums in the world, where floors rescued from the ancient city of Zeugma sit alongside Roman sculptures, columns, fountains and the bronze statue of Mars (Ares). The next stop is Sanliurfa and Gobeklitepe, a hilltop sanctuary built around 10,000 BC that is regarded as the oldest known temple in the world, thousands of years older than Stonehenge and the first Sumerian cities. The tour includes five nights of hotel accommodation (two nights in a cave hotel in Cappadocia, then one night each in Adiyaman, Gaziantep and Sanliurfa), five breakfasts and three dinners, both domestic flights, a licensed English-speaking guide, airport transfers in Cappadocia, transport by air-conditioned minivan or minibus and all entrance fees.

Day 1 Arrival - Red & Rose Valleys, Cavusin & Goreme Open Air Museum ▾
Please make your own way from your Istanbul hotel to the airport for the short flight to Kayseri, where your guide and driver meet you for the drive of about 45 minutes into Cappadocia. The tour opens at a panoramic point in Goreme looking over Pigeon Valley, the Rose and Red Valleys and the villages of Goreme and Uchisar. About half an hour later you descend into Kaymakli Underground City, a UNESCO-listed site famous for its well-organised network of rooms and passages, then stop at Pigeon Valley for views of Uchisar Castle. After lunch at a local restaurant in Avanos you watch a traditional kick-wheel pottery demonstration, then see the mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys of Pasabag (Monks Valley) and the unusual shapes of Devrent Valley, including the famous camel rock, before checking in to your cave hotel for the night.
Day 2 Red & Rose Valleys, Cavusin & Goreme Open Air Museum - Cappadocia to Kahta & Sunset on Mount Nemrut 🍽 Breakfast ▾
Early risers can join an optional hot-air balloon flight at sunrise (not included). After breakfast you are collected from your hotel at 09:30 and walk through the Red and Rose Valleys, where dovecotes and rock-cut churches are carved into the soft tuff. Next comes Cavusin, an abandoned cliff village with wide views. After lunch you visit the Goreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, whose rock-cut churches hold the finest preserved frescoes in Cappadocia. The day ends at a carpet cooperative, where young women weave carpets traditionally made for their dowry and you see each stage of hand-made Cappadocian carpet production. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 3 Cappadocia to Kahta & Sunset on Mount Nemrut - Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep 🍽 Breakfast · Dinner ▾
After an early breakfast you set off on the long, scenic drive east to Kahta. In the afternoon you climb Mount Nemrut, crowning one of the high peaks of the Eastern Taurus range, to watch the sun go down over the sanctuary built by King Antiochus I of Commagene (69-34 BC). Five seated limestone figures, identified by inscriptions as Apollo, Tyche of Commagene, Zeus, Antiochus and Heracles, line the terraces, guarded at both ends by a lion and an eagle; their fallen heads now stand upright in front of the stone-chip mound, about 49 metres high and 152 metres across. You then drive on to Adiyaman for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep - Sanliurfa & Gobeklitepe 🍽 Breakfast · Dinner ▾
After breakfast you travel to Gaziantep to explore the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, one of the largest museums of its kind in the world. Its floors come from the ancient settlements of Zeugma on the Euphrates, where around 2,500 square metres of mosaics were unearthed, and some scenes illustrate ancient literary works that have otherwise been lost. The collection also includes late antique church mosaics, Roman sculptures, columns and fountains, and the striking bronze statue of the war god Mars (Ares). Dinner and overnight in Gaziantep.
Day 5 Sanliurfa & Gobeklitepe - Flight from Sanliurfa to Istanbul 🍽 Breakfast · Dinner ▾
After breakfast a drive of about two and a half hours brings you to Sanliurfa and on to Gobeklitepe, considered the oldest religious structure ever found. Its carved stone pillars were raised around 10,000 BC, at the end of the last Ice Age, more than 6,000 years before Stonehenge and long before the rise of Sumer and the invention of writing. The site remained in use for nearly three millennia before it was abandoned some 9,000 years ago. Dinner and overnight in Sanliurfa.
Day 6 Flight from Sanliurfa to Istanbul - Sanliurfa 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast you are transferred to Sanliurfa airport for your included flight back to Istanbul, where the tour ends. We hope this journey from the valleys of Cappadocia to the oldest temple in the world stays with you for a long time.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
