About Karaman Museum
The Karaman Museum is located in the center of Karaman, behind the Hatuniye Madrasa, one of the most beautiful architectural examples of the Karamanoğulları Era. Museum activities in Karaman first started in 1961, and the current museum building was put into service in 1980. The showroom on the upper floor consists of two sections. From the archaeological section; There are artifacts belonging to many civilizations from the Epipalaeotic Age to the Eastern Roman Period. In the ethnographic section, there are works belonging to the Seljuk Anatolian Principalities, Ottoman and Republic Periods. In our museum garden, works belonging to the Eastern Roman and Turkish-Islamic Period, most of which belong to the Roman Period, are arranged on the green field.
