About Edirne Balkan Tarihi Müzesi
The Edirne Balkan History Museum is housed in the Hıdırlık Tabya, a fortress built between 1886 and 1888 that served as headquarters during the famous defense of Edirne in the Balkan Wars. The structure features 18 artillery rooms, a 120-foot tunnel, and 4 assembly rooms, reflecting the site's strategic importance, and it has undergone a thorough restoration.
The museum displays period military artifacts including firearms, rifles, pistols, battle gear, and military uniforms that illustrate the conditions and environment of the time. It is located in the Eskikadın area of Edirne's city center and ranks among the city's notable historical attractions.
