About Bursa İznik Museum
Iznik Museum, located in Bursa Province, Iznik District, Mahmut Çelebi District, near Yenişehir Kapı, was opened to visitors in January 2023 and dates back to B.C. Various artifacts starting from 6500 BC and dating back to approximately 8500 years ago are exhibited. The artifacts in the museum come from the Mound Excavations carried out in the past and the active excavations of Iznik Tile Kilns, Iznik Roman Theatre, Iznik Underwater Basilica and Iznik Hisardere Necropolis Area. The museum interior and garden exhibitions are arranged chronologically (Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Bronze Age, Hellenistic, Roman, Eastern Roman (Byzantine), Ottoman Period). Stone works are generally exhibited in the museum garden. The Museum building, built in a modern style, has exhibition halls on the ground floor and administrative sections and artifact warehouses on the first floor.
