About Bayazhan Gaziantep City Museum

Bayazhan Gaziantep City Museum is housed within a restored historical mansion (Bayaz Han) in Gaziantep, Turkey, and serves as a cultural hub showcasing the city's heritage. The building was constructed in 1909 by a prominent tobacco merchant and later served as a headquarters during the English occupation and as a jail during the resistance years. Interactive displays and foreign-language audio guides explore Gaziantep's history, ethnic background, economic and trade structure, and local handicrafts such as weaving, coppersmithing, and traditional baklava production.

Beyond its museum function, the complex operates as a multifaceted venue, with a courtyard and lower floors hosting cafes, a restaurant, and entertainment areas. Stalls sell local handicrafts and artwork, weekend evenings feature live music, and a gift shop is available on-site.
