Hamam Muzesi

Hamam Muzesi is a museum housed in a historic Ottoman bathhouse located in Sahinbey, Gaziantep, Turkey. Built in 1577 as part of a complex constructed by Lala Mustafa Pasha, the building originally served as a public bath for centuries. It was restored and converted into a museum by the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality in 2015 to preserve the region's bathing culture and traditions.

The museum recreates the traditional hamam experience with exhibits of the cold, warm, and hot sections of a bathhouse. Visitors can view authentic period equipment, bath tools, wax sculptures, and animated displays that illustrate how people used these facilities, along with items from the Haluk Perk collection and displays of olive soaps. Water sounds and atmospheric humidity create an immersive environment.

The museum is located near Gaziantep Castle and is noted for its beautiful architecture, including clay water pipes and a distinctive domed ceiling. Admission is minimal, making it an accessible cultural attraction for understanding Ottoman-era bathing practices and Gaziantep's social history.
