My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!

Simply share your cruise itinerary and the date you are in Istanbul, and we will reserve your places.
Tour Highlights
- Sapanca Lake — free time on the tranquil lakeshore for a stroll, a pedal-boat ride or a lakeside tea.
- Masukiye — a forest village of rushing waterfalls, trout restaurants and adventure activities such as quad biking and zip-lining.
- Maden River & Mahmudiye — a scenic riverside valley famous for its open-air restaurants set over the water.
- Kartepe mountain — in winter the route can include the Kartepe ski resort for snow and mountain views (weather permitting).
Lakes, Waterfalls and Forests
Less than two hours from Istanbul, the provinces of Sakarya and Kocaeli hide some of the most beautiful green landscapes in northwest Turkey. Masukiye sits in a cool, wooded gorge where mountain streams spill over mossy rocks into a series of waterfalls, with wooden terraces and trout restaurants built right over the water. Sapanca Lake, ringed by forested hills and tidy lakeside promenades, is a favourite weekend retreat for Istanbulites who come to walk, cycle and breathe the clean air. Together they make this one of the most refreshing daily excursions from Istanbul.
Adventure and Family Fun in Masukiye
Masukiye is the lively centrepiece of the day. Its shaded gorge is lined with wooden terraces, trout pools and picnic spots where children can paddle in the shallow streams while adults relax to the sound of the water. For the more adventurous, the village offers optional quad-biking, zip-lines and ATV trails through the forest, while the Ormanya nature park nearby adds storybook touches such as its famous hobbit houses. Later in the day, the calm promenades of Sapanca Lake are ideal for a gentle walk, a pedal-boat ride or a glass of tea with a view of the water.
Good to Know
This tour runs daily with hotel pick-up and drop-off in Istanbul. Lunch is not included, leaving you free to choose a trout lunch at one of Masukiye's riverside restaurants or a snack by Sapanca Lake. The winter programme may add the Kartepe ski resort depending on weather and road conditions. Comfortable walking shoes and a light jacket are recommended, as mountain weather can be cooler and fresher than in the city.

Sapanca Lake & Masukiye Tour Programme
After an early-morning pick-up from your hotel in Istanbul, you set off eastward along the Gulf of Izmit toward the green hills of Kocaeli and Sakarya, with a short comfort stop along the way. Your first main stop is the forest village of Masukiye, where you can admire the waterfalls cascading beside the wooden restaurant terraces and, for the adventurous, try optional activities such as quad biking or zip-lining.
After a leisurely walk along Masukiye's shaded forest paths and streams, the tour continues to the Maden River / Mahmudiye valley around midday. This green valley is famous for its open-air restaurants built over the stream, where you are free to enjoy a trout lunch at your own expense to the sound of the rushing water.
In the afternoon you reach Sapanca Lake for free time on the peaceful shore — ideal for a lakeside walk, a pedal-boat ride or a glass of tea with a view. What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
