My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This daily Sagalassos and Salda Lake tour from Belek leaves the beaches behind for the highlands of Burdur, pairing a remarkably preserved mountain city with one of the most striking lakes in Turkey. It is a guided day tour for travellers who enjoy archaeology, wide landscapes and photography, with hotel transfers and museum entrance fees included.
Sagalassos sits on the slopes of the Taurus range, so high that clouds often drift around its columns. Traces of human settlement in the area reach back some 12,000 years, and the city later grew into an important centre of the region. What makes it special today is its state of preservation: so many original building blocks remain that archaeologists have been able to stand parts of its monuments up again, giving a rare sense of how a mountain city once looked.
Salda Lake, the second stop of this daily excursion, is among the deepest lakes in Turkey at about 184 metres. Its colours shift from turquoise to deep blue, and the bright white mineral deposits along the shore create a landscape that feels unlike anywhere else, ideal for unhurried photos. Lunch is not included, so please bring money for food or a packed meal; comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the uneven ground at the ruins.

Sagalassos & Salda Lake Programme The day starts with a pickup from your hotel in Belek and a scenic drive in an air-conditioned, non-smoking coach up into the Taurus Mountains of Burdur province. The first visit is Sagalassos, an ancient city spread across a mountainside at roughly 1,700 metres, where the air is cooler and the views stretch over the surrounding valleys. With your English-speaking guide you walk among its monumental buildings, many still built from their original stone blocks, and learn how settlement here began some 12,000 years ago and how the city developed over the centuries. After the archaeological tour the journey continues to Salda Lake, one of the deepest crater lakes in Turkey, reaching about 184 metres. Here you have time to admire the remarkable colour of the water and the white, mineral-rich shoreline that gives the area its Mars-like appearance, and to take as many photographs as you like. Lunch is not part of the package, so you can buy food along the way at your own expense. In the late afternoon the coach heads back to Belek and drops you at your hotel.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
