My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
5 Days Trabzon City, Cooking Class & Turkish Bath Tour with Sumela Monastery Private Tour
Highlights of the 5 Days Trabzon City, Cooking & Hamam Tour
This five-day stay in Trabzon mixes three very different experiences of the Black Sea city: a full day of history and mountain scenery, a morning in the kitchen with a local chef and a slow, restorative visit to a traditional Turkish bath. You are based in the same hotel for all four nights, so there is no packing and unpacking, and each guided activity starts with a pick-up from your door. Arrival and departure transfers to and from Trabzon Airport frame the programme.
The sightseeing day takes in the 13th-century St. Sophia Church-Mosque with its Byzantine frescoes, the Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, Trabzon Castle and the hillside Ataturk Mansion, followed by the Ortahisar Mosque, once the cathedral of the Comnenian dynasty, and a walk on the cobbled streets of the old town. From the viewpoint of Boztepe you sip samovar-brewed tea above the rooftops, then call at Lake Sera before heading into the mountains. There you visit the Sumela Monastery, founded in the 4th century and perched on a sheer cliff in the forest, rest beside the stream in Altindere Valley National Park and travel the Silk Road across the Zigana Mountains to Karaca Cave, whose dripstones are prized for their colours.
On the third day a chef in a local restaurant teaches you dishes from Trabzon's regional kitchen, with salads and desserts on the menu, and you eat the lunch you have prepared. The fourth day is spent at a hamam, where bathing traditions going back to the Roman era continue: the bath has cold, warm and hot sections, and attendants known as tellak for men and natir for women perform the traditional scrub. The package includes four nights of hotel accommodation, four breakfasts and one lunch, guided city, cooking and Turkish bath tours with an English-speaking guide, air-conditioned transport, airport transfers and the entrance fees listed.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your full program, day by day — click a day to see every stop.
Day 1 Arrival - Trabzon, Boztepe, Lake Sera, Sumela, Zigana, Karaca Cave ▾
Our representative meets you at Trabzon Airport and accompanies you on the drive into the city, where you check in at your hotel for the next four nights. No activities are planned for the rest of the day, so you can rest, settle in and get your bearings at your own pace before the guided programme starts tomorrow morning. Overnight in Trabzon.
Day 2 Trabzon, Boztepe, Lake Sera, Sumela, Zigana, Karaca Cave - Trabzon cooking class 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast you are picked up for a long day of discovery. Begin at the 13th-century St. Sophia Church-Mosque to admire its Byzantine frescoes, then move on to the Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, the castle and the Ataturk Mansion set in hillside gardens. Continue to the Ortahisar Mosque, a former Comnenian cathedral, and walk the cobbled old town. Ride up to Boztepe for samovar tea with a panoramic view, then stop at Lake Sera. Later drive into the mountains to the Sumela Monastery on its cliff face, relax by the stream in Altindere Valley National Park and follow the Silk Road over the Zigana Mountains to colourful Karaca Cave. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Trabzon.
Day 3 Trabzon cooking class - Trabzon Turkish bath 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
After breakfast head to a local restaurant for a cooking class run by its chef, with your guide translating and explaining each stage. You learn recipes from the Trabzon kitchen, which draws on the broader Turkish culinary heritage, and also prepare salads and desserts. Once the dishes are finished you sit down to enjoy them as your lunch at the restaurant, then return to the hotel for a free afternoon. Overnight in Trabzon.
Day 4 Trabzon Turkish bath - Trabzon Airport 🍽 Breakfast ▾
Following breakfast you are collected and taken to a hamam. Bathing culture of this kind dates back to Roman times, and the Turkish bath still follows the same layout of cold, warm and hot rooms. Specialist attendants, called tellak for men and natir for women, carry out the traditional scrubbing ritual. Take your time to unwind and enjoy the warmth before being driven back to your hotel. Overnight in Trabzon.
Day 5 Departure - Trabzon 🍽 Breakfast ▾
Enjoy your last breakfast in Trabzon and check out of the hotel. You are then transferred to Trabzon Airport for your homeward or onward flight, bringing to a close five relaxed days of sightseeing, cooking and pampering on Turkey's Black Sea coast. We hope to welcome you back for another journey through Turkey.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
