My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
4 Days Trabzon City & Cooking Tour: Sumela Monastery, Karaca Cave & Black Sea Cuisine Private Tour
Highlights of the 4 Days Trabzon City & Cooking Tour
Four days in Trabzon give you time to combine the landmarks of this historic Black Sea port with a taste of its kitchen. After you are met at Trabzon Airport and settled into your hotel, a guided sightseeing day covers the old city, the hills above it and the mountain country to the south. The third day is devoted to food: in a local restaurant you cook alongside the chef, learning dishes from Trabzon's regional cuisine, and then sit down to eat what you have made. The trip ends with a transfer back to the airport after breakfast on day four.
Sightseeing begins at the St. Sophia Church-Mosque, built in the 13th century and known for its Byzantine wall paintings, and continues to the Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, Trabzon Castle and the Ataturk Mansion, a white villa among gardens on a wooded slope. The Ortahisar Mosque in the old quarter was originally a cathedral of the Comnenian rulers of Trabzon. After exploring the cobbled streets you head up to Boztepe for samovar tea and a wide view of the city and sea, then visit Lake Sera. Later the tour climbs to the Sumela Monastery, a 4th-century foundation set into a rock wall above dense forest, stops beside the stream in Altindere Valley National Park and crosses the Zigana Mountains along the Silk Road to Karaca Cave, famous for its colourful formations.
The cooking class is guided, so your tour guide is on hand to explain each step while the chef demonstrates. The menu is drawn from local Trabzon recipes, which belong to the wider Turkish culinary tradition, and usually also includes salads and desserts. Your package covers three nights of hotel accommodation, three breakfasts and the lunch you prepare, an English-speaking guide, transport in an air-conditioned vehicle, airport transfers on arrival and departure, and the entrance fees listed in the programme.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
