About Liva Pasa Mansion Ethnography Museum

The Liva Pasa Mansion Ethnography Museum, also known as the Kastamonu Ethnographic Museum, is housed in a beautifully restored traditional mansion (konak) spanning three floors. The museum showcases the material culture and daily life of the Kastamonu region through displays of handicrafts, traditional kitchenware, clothing and household objects that provide insight into Ottoman-era living.

The museum's layout recreates a historical home environment. The upper floor is arranged to separate spaces designated for men and women, including a bridal chamber, while another floor features displays of everyday objects and tools used in traditional life. Though modest in size, the museum offers visitors a meaningful glimpse into regional customs and cultural heritage, and admission is inexpensive, with discounted or free entry available for museum card holders.
