Kaymakamlar Muze

Kaymakamlar Muze is a historic Ottoman mansion in Safranbolu, a UNESCO-protected heritage town in Turkey. The museum showcases the architectural and cultural traditions of an 18th-19th century Turkish upper-class household, with multiple rooms furnished to reflect daily life during Ottoman times.

The house contains several notable architectural features, including separated spaces for men and women, a small harem and a distinctive rotating cupboard that allowed female attendants to serve food to male guests while remaining unseen. Visitors explore the rooms with the aid of descriptive plaques, observing period furnishings, carved wooden ceilings and ornate door latches. A café serving traditional Turkish coffee is located on the ground floor, and the mansion sits near other Safranbolu attractions on Hıdırlık Hill, which offers panoramic views of the old town.
