Your journey begins in Istanbul, a city where East meets West. After a welcome meeting at 1:00 PM, join your guide for an exploration of the Old City. You will visit the historic Hippodrome, the iconic Blue Mosque, and the magnificent Suleymaniye Mosque. The afternoon includes a walk through the vibrant Grand Bazaar, a historic center of trade. Spend your evening soaking in the atmosphere of this imperial capital, perhaps enjoying a traditional kebab dinner with your fellow travelers.
Depart Istanbul for the Dardanelles. En route, participate in a fully guided tour of the Gallipoli Peninsula. On some departures the sleeper runs to Ankara instead of Konya because of limited carriages; in that case the morning includes a visit to AnΔ±tkabir, the mausoleum of AtatΓΌrk.
