This two-day trip takes you from your hotel in Çeşme to Istanbul and back, with a guided walk through the old city on the first day and the Grand Bazaar and a Bosphorus cruise on the second. Early in the morning you are picked up in Çeşme and driven to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport for your flight to Istanbul, where your guide meets you at the airport and takes you straight to the historic peninsula.
The old city walk starts at the Ancient Hippodrome, once the scene of chariot races, with the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. Next is the Blue Mosque, built in the 16th century and named after its blue Iznik tiles; it was the first Ottoman mosque with six minarets. Hagia Sophia is seen from the outside during a short photo stop. You then visit Topkapı Palace, where the clock collection, the weapons and armour section, the pavilions, the Sacred Relics and the panoramic view from the fourth courtyard tell the story of the Ottoman court. After a lunch break, the afternoon is spent shopping at the Spice Bazaar, where traders sell ceramics, copperware, carpets and other Turkish crafts. Overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast on day two you visit the Grand Bazaar, a centuries-old covered market whose 61 lanes hold more than 4,000 shops. The Bosphorus cruise follows, sailing between Europe and Asia past wooden villas, Dolmabahçe Palace, the parks of Yıldız Palace, Çırağan Palace, Ortaköy with its church, mosque and synagogue side by side, Rumeli Fortress, completed in 1452, and Beylerbeyi Palace on the Asian shore. After free time for lunch you are transferred to Istanbul Airport for your flight back to Izmir, and from Izmir airport to your hotel in Çeşme.
The price includes one night of hotel accommodation in Istanbul with breakfast, a professional English-speaking guide, the guided old city and shopping tour, the guided Bosphorus cruise, entrance fees mentioned in the itinerary and all transfers between Çeşme, Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, Istanbul Airport and the old city in an air-conditioned vehicle. The flights between Izmir and Istanbul, lunches, the Harem section of Topkapı Palace and city tax are not included. The old city part of the tour is on foot, so comfortable shoes are recommended.

Then you board the Bosphorus cruise along the strait that separates Europe and Asia, seeing Dolmabahçe Palace, the imperial pavilions of Yıldız Palace, Çırağan Palace with its long marble facade, Ortaköy, Rumeli Fortress and Beylerbeyi Palace, the summer residence of the sultans on the Asian side. After free time for lunch you transfer to Istanbul Airport for your flight to Izmir (not included). On arrival at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport you are driven back to your hotel in Çeşme. End of the tour. Please note: Topkapı Palace is closed on Tuesdays.
