This two-day escape from Kusadasi links the two unmissable wonders of Turkey’s Aegean coast in one easy, fully guided trip. In a comfortable air-conditioned coach, and with a professional English-speaking guide at your side, you travel inland to the gleaming white terraces of Pamukkale and the ruined spa city of Hierapolis, spend the night at a thermal hotel, and the next day walk the marble avenues of Ephesus before a relaxed visit to the vineyard village of Sirince. It is the ideal way to see the region’s classical and natural masterpieces without the stress of driving or planning.
The first day belongs to Pamukkale, the “cotton castle” whose calcium-rich thermal springs have built dazzling snow-white travertine terraces over thousands of years. You climb barefoot across the warm pools and explore the sprawling ancient city of Hierapolis that grew up around them — its great Roman theatre, colonnaded main street, the vast necropolis, the Temple of Apollo and the mysterious Plutonium. If you wish, you can swim among submerged marble columns in Cleopatra’s Antique Pool, one of the most atmospheric bathing spots in the world.
The second day is devoted to Ephesus, among the best-preserved classical cities of the Mediterranean. With your guide you follow Curetes Street past the Roman baths to the magnificent facade of the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre, and learn about the site of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, near Selcuk. Afterwards you unwind in Sirince, a hillside village of whitewashed Ottoman-Greek houses famous for its fruit wines, handicrafts and leather workshops, before the return transfer to Kusadasi. This tour suits first-time visitors, cruise passengers and anyone who wants to combine Turkey’s greatest ancient city with its most spectacular natural site in a single short break.
Your full program, day by day — click a day to see every stop.
You are collected from your Kusadasi hotel in the morning (between 08:00 and 09:30) and set off inland across the Buyuk Menderes valley to Pamukkale, arriving around midday for lunch and hotel check-in. In the afternoon you discover the extraordinary travertines of Pamukkale, walking barefoot across the terraced white pools of mineral-laden water. Your guide then leads you through the adjoining ancient city of Hierapolis, including its grand Roman theatre, the colonnaded street, the enormous necropolis, the Temple of Apollo and the Plutonium. If you like, you can take an optional swim in Cleopatra’s Antique Pool among fallen marble columns. Overnight at a thermal hotel in Pamukkale.
After breakfast at your Pamukkale hotel you drive to Ephesus for a full guided tour of one of the ancient world’s greatest cities. You walk down Curetes Street past the Roman baths and public buildings to the celebrated facade of the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre, and hear the story of the Temple of Artemis near Selcuk. A visit to a traditional carpet-weaving centre and lunch follow, before you head up to the charming village of Sirince, set among vineyards and known for its white houses, fruit wines, handicrafts and leather workshops. In the late afternoon you are transferred back to your hotel in Kusadasi, where the tour ends.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
