This short private tour is designed for travellers staying on the Aegean coast who want to see Cappadocia without a long overland journey. On the first day you are transferred to Izmir Airport for the domestic flight to Cappadocia, met on arrival and taken to your hotel for dinner and the night. The second day is a full guided tour of the northern part of the region, ending with a drop-off at Kayseri Airport for the flight back. Flights are not included in the price, so you can choose the times that suit you best.
If you wish, the day can start before sunrise with an optional hot air balloon flight: pick-up is at about 05:30, the flight over the fairy chimneys and valleys lasts around one hour, and it ends with a glass of champagne and a flight certificate before you return to the hotel for breakfast. The guided tour leaves at about 09:30 and begins at Ozkonak Underground City, a well-preserved settlement dug deep into the soft volcanic rock. It continues to Goreme Open Air Museum with its rock-cut churches and frescoes, and to Cavusin village with its old cave houses and stone buildings.
Lunch is at a local restaurant in Avanos, the pottery town on the Red River, followed by a visit to a traditional pottery workshop to see how local clay is shaped on the wheel. In the afternoon the tour visits Love Valley with its tall, distinctive fairy chimneys, Devrent Valley (Imagination Valley), where the rocks look like animals and figures, and finally the Three Beauties, the best-known group of capped fairy chimneys in Cappadocia.
The price includes one night of hotel accommodation in Cappadocia, one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner, a professional English-speaking guide, all airport transfers mentioned in the itinerary in an air-conditioned, smoke-free vehicle, the entrance fees for the sites visited and local taxes. The domestic flights from Izmir to Cappadocia and from Kayseri back, the balloon flight and hotel room taxes are not included.
