Upon your arrival at Istanbul Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. Dinner and overnight in Istanbul.
Explore the heart of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. Visit the 6th-century Hagia Sophia, commissioned by Emperor Justinian, and the sprawling Topkapi Palace. Marvel at the 17th-century Blue Mosque with its six minarets, and walk through the ancient Hippodrome, with the Serpent Column, the Egyptian Obelisk and the German Fountain. An optional half-day Bosphorus cruise is available in the afternoon. Overnight in Istanbul.
After an early pick-up from your hotel (between 06:15 and 06:45), drive about four hours to the Gallipoli Peninsula, where some of the fiercest fighting of the First World War took place. Our tour includes the Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Chunuk Bair, Anzac Cove, and the original trenches and tunnels of the Dardanelles campaign. Continue to Canakkale for your overnight stay.

After a display of locally made leather goods, drive about 220 km to Pamukkale. After lunch, explore the ruins of Hierapolis, including the Domitian Gate, the colonnaded street, the Roman Theater, the Plutonium, the Temple of Apollo and the vast Necropolis, then walk along the white travertine terraces. Swimming in the Antique (Cleopatra) Pool is optional at extra cost. Overnight in a thermal hotel in Pamukkale.
Journey through the mountains to the Dalyan Lagoon. Enjoy a boat trip along the river to view the ancient rock-cut tombs of Kaunos and the nesting grounds of the Caretta Caretta turtles. A stop at the Sultaniye mud baths is optional. Continue to the seaside town of Fethiye for dinner and overnight.
