Travelling as a private party with your own guide, vehicle and flexible pace, this two-day program distils the very best of Istanbul into a perfectly balanced short break — one day for the imperial monuments of the historic peninsula, one day for the palaces and villages of the Bosphorus that divides Europe and Asia. It is the ideal way to understand a city of fifteen million people and two continents without feeling rushed, with hotel pick-up and drop-off and a professional English-speaking guide throughout.
Your first day explores old Sultanahmet. You walk the ancient Hippodrome of Constantinople, with the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine, then stand beneath the cascading domes and six minarets of the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque) and the mighty Hagia Sophia, one of the greatest buildings of the ancient world. The afternoon winds through the fragrant Spice Bazaar and the surrounding streets of artisans and souvenir shops, with a lunch break along the way.
Day two takes to the water for a Bosphorus cruise, gliding past the baroque Dolmabahce Palace, Ciragan and Yildiz palaces, the pretty waterside square of Ortakoy beneath its mosque and bridge, and the great fortress of Rumeli. You cross to the Asian shore to see the elegant Beylerbeyi Palace, pass under the Bosphorus Bridge and climb Camlica Hill for the finest panorama over the whole city, finishing with an optional visit to workshops for Turkish carpets, jewellery, ceramics and leather. With guided city and Bosphorus tours and entrance fees to the major landmarks included, it is Istanbul at its most memorable.

After breakfast your guide meets you for a full day in the old city of Sultanahmet. You begin at the Hippodrome of Constantinople, with the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine, then visit the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque) with its celebrated tiled interior and the vast Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque. After a lunch break you explore the fragrant Spice Bazaar and the surrounding streets of souvenir and artisan shops before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast you set out for a Bosphorus cruise by boat along the strait that separates Europe and Asia, passing the Dolmabahce, Ciragan and Yildiz palaces, the waterside district of Ortakoy, and Rumeli Fortress. On the Asian side you see the graceful Beylerbeyi Palace, cross the Bosphorus Bridge and ascend Camlica Hill for a sweeping panorama of the city, before an optional shopping tour featuring carpet weaving, jewellery, handcrafts and leatherwear.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
