This six-day holiday keeps you in Cappadocia for five nights, so there is time both for guided sightseeing and for slow days among the fairy chimneys. After an airport or bus station pick-up in Kayseri, Nevsehir or Göreme and a first dinner, three guided days cover the classic sights of the region, followed by a free day and the return transfer.
The first touring day begins in Göreme Valley with an explanation of how the soft volcanic rock was shaped into today's cones and pillars. You visit the cave dwellings around Uchisar, stop for tea and coffee and then explore the Göreme Open-Air Museum, whose rock-cut churches and monasteries preserve some of the finest frescoes in Cappadocia. After a buffet lunch the route continues to the fairy chimneys of Urgup and the cave-riddled wishing hill, a short walk in Devrent Valley with its figure-shaped rocks, the unusual dwellings of Monks Valley, the pottery town of Avanos and Rose Valley, where the day ends with the sunset.
The second guided day starts at 9:00 with a hike of about 4 km through Ihlara Valley to its frescoed churches and lunch on the bank of the Melendiz River. You then visit Selime Cathedral, pass Nar Crater Lake and go down into Derinkuyu, the biggest underground city of the region, where the air stays at 12-13 °C. Pigeon Valley, with dovecotes carved to collect guano, closes the day. On the third guided day you walk through Rose Valley, named after its pink-toned rock that changes colour with the seasons and the weather.
Day five is entirely yours: sleep in, wander the local markets or add optional activities such as a whirling dervish ceremony, a Turkish night show, a Turkish bath, a hot air balloon flight, bicycle, ATV or jeep tours. The package includes five hotel nights, the meals listed in the programme, an English-speaking professional guide, transport in an air-conditioned, non-smoking vehicle and all arrival and departure transfers.

You are met at Kayseri or Nevsehir airport, or at Göreme bus station, and transferred to your hotel in Cappadocia. After receiving your room key, the rest of the day is free to explore. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

You then drive to Uchisar to see cave dwellings set among conical rocks, followed by a tea and coffee break and a visit to the Göreme Open-Air Museum with its rock-cut churches and monasteries and their well-kept frescoes. After a buffet lunch you continue to the fairy chimneys of Urgup and the wishing hill, honeycombed with caves, then take a short walk in Devrent Valley among rocks shaped like many different figures. Pick-up is at 9:00 am for the drive to Ihlara Valley, where a hike of around 4 km leads past churches covered in frescoes. Lunch is served beside the Melendiz River. In the afternoon you visit Selime Cathedral and Derinkuyu, the largest underground city of Cappadocia, where the temperature is only 12-13 °C, passing Nar Crater Lake on the way.
