Journey into the cradle of civilisation on this six-day Nemrut and Harran tour, a deep dive into the heritage, cuisine and culture of southeastern Turkey arranged in-house by Inca Tour, a TURSAB-licensed operator since 2007 with your own English-speaking guide. Based in Adıyaman, it combines the colossal god-king statues of Mount Nemrut with a hands-on cooking class, a traditional Turkish bath and the beehive houses of ancient Harran.
From your base in Adıyaman the tour's centrepiece is Mount Nemrut, the highest open-air museum in the world, where the colossal stone heads of the Commagene kingdom watch over a sunset of unforgettable beauty. On the way you visit the Karakuş Tumulus, the still-standing Roman Cendere Bridge, Old Kahta Castle and the summer capital of Arsemia, tracing the story of a little-known ancient kingdom.
Beyond the monuments, the tour immerses you in local life: a cooking class with a restaurant chef to learn and taste the dishes of Adıyaman cuisine, and a traditional Turkish bath with its cold, warm and hot rooms and scrub ritual. A full day takes you to Harran, a Silk Road town of conical beehive houses, an ancient mound, the first Islamic university and historic walls, followed by the vast Atatürk Dam. With comfortable accommodation, guiding and entrance fees included, it is a rich and authentic exploration of Upper Mesopotamia. Prices are per person and fall as your group grows.
Your full program, day by day — click a day to see every stop.
An early start for the Commagene heartland: the Karakuş Tumulus with its eagle column, the Roman Cendere Bridge, Old Kahta Castle (Yeni Kale) and the summer capital of Arsemia, before ascending Mount Nemrut — the highest open-air museum in the world — to its east and west terraces to watch the sunset light the giant god-king statues. Overnight in Adıyaman.
A relaxed day of local culture: at a local restaurant you join a cooking class with the chef, learning and preparing dishes of Adıyaman cuisine — mains, salads and desserts inspired by the wider Turkish table — then enjoy the meal you have made, followed by some free time for shopping. Overnight in Adıyaman.
A morning at a traditional hamam, a bathing culture dating back to Roman times, with its cold, warm and hot rooms and the classic scrub-and-foam ritual to leave you relaxed and refreshed. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Adıyaman.
You travel into Mesopotamia to Harran, a Silk Road town famous for its conical beehive houses, visiting the ancient mound, the mosque of the Umayyad caliph Marwan, the first Islamic university (Harran University), the inner castle and the historic walls. You then take in the vast Atatürk Dam from its viewing terrace before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Adıyaman.
After breakfast and hotel check-out you are transferred to Adıyaman Airport for your flight home, ending your six-day tour of Nemrut and Harran.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
