My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
4 Days Kutahya City & Cooking Tour: Tile Museums, Fortress and Sini Mantisi Class Private Tour
Highlights of the 4-Day Kutahya City and Cooking Tour
Few Turkish cities are as closely tied to a single craft as Kutahya, whose kilns have produced glazed tiles and pottery for generations. Over four days and three nights in one hotel, this programme pairs a thorough guided tour of the city's monuments with a hands-on cooking lesson built around its best-known dish, sini mantisi. Transfers from and to Kutahya Airport, three open-buffet breakfasts, one local lunch, an English-speaking guide and all entrance fees on the itinerary are included, while the arrival and departure days leave time to wander at your own pace.
On the city tour you see the Cinili Mosque, its outer walls covered with about 30,000 ceramic plates, and the 14th-century Donenler Mosque, which served as a Mevlevi dervish lodge and still displays painted dervish hats on the columns of its ceremonial hall. The Archaeology Museum shows treasures from ancient Aizanoi, including a superb Roman sarcophagus decorated with Amazon battle scenes, and pottery from the Bronze Age mound of Seyitomer Hoyuk. The Grand Mosque, built in 1410, and the Geology Museum inside the 16th-century Sengul Turkish Bath are next, followed by the Kossuth Museum, where the Hungarian leader Lajos Kossuth once lived, and the Tile Museum, which traces local ceramics from Seljuk fragments to modern pieces.
The tour continues to the Kursunlu Mosque, built in 1377 under the Germiyanids, the Clock Tower that symbolises the city, the restored Ottoman houses of Germiyan Street, the Kent Museum and finally Kutahya Fortress, raised by the Byzantines in the 8th century and strengthened by later rulers. The next day a chef at a local restaurant guides you through preparing sini mantisi and a dessert, which you then enjoy as lunch before free time for shopping in the centre.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your full program, day by day — click a day to see every stop.
Day 1 Arrival - Kutahya ▾
Our representative meets you at Kutahya Airport and accompanies you to your hotel. Once you have checked in and collected your key, the day is completely free. You may want to take an easy stroll through the town centre, stop for a glass of tea or simply rest after travelling. There are no planned activities today, which gives you time to settle in before the guided touring starts the next morning.
Day 2 Kutahya 🍽 Breakfast ▾
Following breakfast, the guide picks you up for a day among Kutahya's landmarks. Highlights include the Cinili Mosque with its ceramic-clad facade, the Donenler Mosque, a 14th-century Mevlevi lodge, and the Archaeology Museum with its Roman sarcophagus once placed in the Zeus sanctuary at Aizanoi. You continue to the Grand Mosque of 1410, the Geology Museum in the Sengul Turkish Bath, the Kossuth Museum and the Tile Museum. Afterwards you visit the Kursunlu Mosque of 1377 with its original mihrab, pass the Clock Tower, walk along Germiyan Street and look around the Kent Museum. The day ends at Kutahya Fortress, whose ruined round towers recall its former strength, before you are driven back to the hotel.
Day 3 Kutahya 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
After breakfast you are taken to a local restaurant for a professional Turkish cooking lesson. Working with the chef, you taste a range of local flavours and prepare the city's signature menu: sini mantisi, small dumplings baked in a large round tray, followed by a dessert. You pick up recipes and techniques to recreate at home, then sit down to the lunch you have cooked. In the afternoon there is free time for shopping in the city centre before the transfer back to your hotel.
Day 4 Departure - Kutahya 🍽 Breakfast ▾
Enjoy breakfast and some free time in Kutahya, perhaps for a last look at the ceramic shops. According to your flight schedule, the driver collects you and transfers you to Kutahya Airport for your flight home, ending four days of tiles, history and home cooking. Our team is happy to help with any last-minute questions about luggage or timing, and we hope to welcome you back to Turkey for another journey.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
