Kas City Sights & Myra Ancient City Tour
Your day begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kas. The first stop on this guided day tour is the Ancient Theatre at Antiphellos, the original Lycian settlement on the site of modern Kas. The Lycians clearly knew how to choose a location, as they enjoyed this breathtaking sea view every day of their lives. Sadly, little of Antiphellos has survived to the present day, with the notable exception of the theatre itself. As you step inside, you will feel pleasantly cut off from the outside world, and the seating area is the perfect place to watch the sun go down over the Mediterranean. From here, the tour continues to the Long Bazaar and the King's Tomb. Stroll through the lively bazaar, where you will find shops offering handcrafted jewelry and many kinds of souvenirs, and admire the ancient King's Tomb standing proudly above the street. The final and most important stop of the day is Myra Ancient City, situated around 40 minutes from Kas. Myra is celebrated for its ancient ruins, the Church of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) and its famous blue crabs. The St. Nicholas Church is a significant site for Christian pilgrims, and Santa Claus-related celebrations take place here every year on December 6th.
