Antalya, the largest city on the Turkish Riviera, combines long beaches and warm sea with a historic harbour quarter and some of the finest ancient sites on the Mediterranean coast. This eight-day, seven-night family package keeps the pace easy: you stay in one hotel in Antalya on a half-board basis with breakfast and dinner every day, enjoy one guided sightseeing day and one lively evening of Turkish entertainment, and have the rest of the week free for the beach, the pool and whatever activities your family enjoys most. Arrival and departure transfers between Antalya Airport or bus station and the hotel are included, so the holiday is simple to organise from start to finish.
The guided day leaves the hotel in the morning for Aspendos, east of the city, whose Roman theatre is regarded as the best-preserved theatre of antiquity. It once seated around 15,000 spectators, and its stage building, galleries and remarkable acoustics are still admired today; nearby lie the remains of a basilica, an agora and an aqueduct counted among the biggest in Anatolia. Aspendos was an important port in Roman times, reached by ships along the KΓΆprΓΌΓ§ay river, and passed through Lydian, Persian and Macedonian hands, with Alexander the Great arriving in the 4th century BC. Back in Antalya you explore Kaleici, the old town of narrow lanes and restored Ottoman houses inside the ancient walls, and see the Clock Tower that marks its entrance. If you would like to do some shopping afterwards, your guide can arrange it.
On the seventh evening the whole family can enjoy the included Traditional Turkish Night, a dinner show with belly dancers, folk dances from many regions of Turkey, local mezes, soft drinks and plenty of music, usually running from about 20:30 until midnight. The free days can be spent on the beach and in the clear sea, in the shops and markets of the city, or on extra excursions booked locally; a wooden yacht cruise from Kemer and a day at Antalya Aqua Park are available as optional extras at additional cost. Seven breakfasts, seven dinners, the guided old city tour, the Turkish Night show, the listed entrance fees and both transfers are included.

Welcome to Turkey. On arrival at Antalya Airport or the Antalya bus station you are transferred to your hotel, where you check in and receive your room key. The rest of the day is free to settle in, enjoy the hotel facilities or take an evening walk to discover Antalya by night. Dinner is served at the hotel, which will be your home for all seven nights of the holiday.
After breakfast you set off at around 08:30 for Aspendos. Its Roman theatre, built for some 15,000 spectators and still used for performances, is famous as the best-preserved theatre of the ancient world, with intact galleries, stage decoration and excellent acoustics. Close by you can see the remains of a basilica, the agora and an impressive aqueduct. Your guide outlines the history of the city, from its legendary foundation by Mopsus through Lydian and Persian rule to the arrival of Alexander the Great. Returning to Antalya, you stroll through Kaleici, the historic old town, and visit the Clock Tower. Shopping can be arranged on request before you return to the hotel for dinner.
No early start today. Enjoy the sunshine and the views, spend time on the beach and in the crystal-clear sea, or explore the city and its local markets. If your family is looking for more action, many optional activities can be booked locally, such as a day at an aqua park, horseback riding, rafting on the river, paintball, scuba diving, snorkelling or a fishing trip. Breakfast and dinner are at the hotel.
Another day at leisure. Families who would like to see the coast from the water can join an optional wooden yacht cruise at extra cost, departing from Kemer marina towards Phaselis and Olympos with swimming and snorkelling stops and lunch on board. Alternatively, relax on the beach, by the pool or in the shaded lanes of the city. You return to the hotel for dinner.
The day is free for your own plans. Children often enjoy a day of waterslides and wave pools, and an optional trip to Antalya Aqua Park can be arranged for an additional fee. Otherwise you might simply swim and sunbathe, or browse the shops of the city centre. Breakfast and dinner are included at the hotel.
Take things slowly and enjoy the Mediterranean at your own pace. Spend the day by the sea, explore more of the city and its markets, or pick one of the many day trips available locally, from horse riding and rafting to diving and fishing excursions. In the evening dinner is served at your hotel.
The daytime is free for a final swim, last-minute shopping or simply relaxing. In the evening comes the included Traditional Turkish Night, a highlight for first-time visitors to Turkey. Over a dinner of local dishes and mezes with soft drinks, you watch belly dancers and energetic folk dances from across the country, with music and dancing in which guests are invited to join. The show usually begins around 20:30 and continues until midnight, a lively way to round off your holiday.
After breakfast you check out of the hotel and are transferred to Antalya Airport or the Antalya bus station for your onward journey.
