Highlights of the 7‑Day Cappadocia Expedition

This journey begins in the pottery town of Avanos, where guests check in to their hotel and meet the horses before mounting up for daily rides across the surreal landscape. The first full day leads to the quiet fishing hamlet of Sarihidir, a tea stop by the Red River, and onward to the Zelve Open‑Air Museum, where the iconic fairy chimneys loom over ancient dwellings. The ride continues to Cavusin and the Göreme Open‑Air Museum, home to some of the best‑preserved rock‑cut churches with well‑preserved frescoes from the early Christian period.

The itinerary then winds through the tranquil White Valley to the towering Uchisar Castle, offering panoramic views of the region. The ride then passes the villages of Kavak and Bahçeli to reach Ayvali, a quiet place set among apricot groves, where the night is spent in an old hotel that encloses a 12th‑century church and a carpet workshop shows how local weavers work. The following day showcases the shimmering waters of Lake Damsabaraji and the old Greek village of Mustafapaşa, before returning to Ayvali via a high plateau that reveals Cappadocia from a fresh perspective.

Mid‑week highlights include the Greek‑style village of Ibrahimpasa, the imposing rock fortress of Ortahisar, and the vibrant hues of the Red and Rose Valleys. The adventure culminates with a visit to the fascinating Ozkonak Underground City and a ride back over Ziyaretdagi Mountain to Avanos, where a pottery workshop can be visited before the final night. Throughout the tour, daily meals feature a mix of vegetarian, halal, and meat options, reflecting the region’s culinary diversity.
