This four-day itinerary pairs the heritage of Kirklareli with the wild coastline and forests around Igneada, two contrasting faces of Trakya, the corner of Turkey that lies on the European continent. You are met at Tekirdag Corlu Airport and driven to your hotel in Kirklareli, where the first afternoon and evening are entirely free, giving you time to settle in and get a feel for the compact city centre on your own before the guided days begin.
The second day immerses you in the city’s rich past. A guided walk takes you to the Ataturk Museum, a faithful replica of the birthplace of Turkey’s founding father, followed by the Kirklareli Museum, a 19th‑century municipal building that now showcases archaeology, ethnography, culture and nature exhibits. A stop at the Gerdanli Fountain, a late‑Ottoman stone structure, and a visit to the Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Mosque & Complex, built in the late 16th century, complete the cultural circuit.
The third day transports you to the natural wonders of Igneada. After a drive of roughly an hour and a half, you’ll explore Dupnisia Cave, one of Turkey’s longest caves featuring two levels and an underground river. The journey continues to Igneada’s coastal charm, where you visit the port, the lighthouse and the village of Limankoy, followed by a trek through the Sahindere floodplain (or a comparable floodplain, depending on conditions), a haven for diverse flora and fauna. The final day is reserved for a leisurely breakfast and a transfer back to Tekirdag Corlu Airport for your departure.

Your tour begins at Tekirdag Corlu Airport, where you are met and transferred by road to your hotel in Kirklareli. Once you have checked in and collected your room key, the rest of the day is free. You may simply rest after the journey or wander out to see the city centre at your own pace; there is no guided programme today. Overnight in Kirklareli.
Start the day with breakfast before a guided tour of Kirklareli’s most significant landmarks. Visit the Ataturk Museum, a replica of the founder’s birthplace, then the Kirklareli Museum, a former municipal building turned cultural centre. Continue to the Gerdanli Fountain, a late‑Ottoman stone structure, then walk along Istasyon Street with free time for lunch, and finish, about an hour away by road, at the Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Mosque & Complex, a 16th‑century Ottoman masterpiece. The day culminates with a trekking excursion through the Sahindere floodplain or a similar floodplain nearby, offering a unique glimpse of local biodiversity. Overnight in Kirklareli.
After breakfast at the hotel, your time is your own until the departure transfer. Depending on your flight, you can take a final walk through the centre or pick up a few souvenirs. At the arranged time you are driven back to Tekirdag Corlu Airport for your flight home, bringing the Kirklareli and Igneada tour to a close.
