This short guided holiday combines the classic sights of Cappadocia with a visit that most standard itineraries leave out: the town of Hacibektas and the museum and mausoleum of Haci Bektas Veli, the 13th-century Turkish philosopher and mystic. Over three nights based in Cappadocia, a licensed English-speaking guide leads two full sightseeing days, while arrival and departure transfers from Kayseri or Nevsehir airport keep the logistics simple. Half-board accommodation, 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 3 dinners are included.
The first touring day starts at the panoramic viewpoint over Pigeon Valley, where dovecotes are carved into the rock between Uchisar and Goreme and Uchisar Castle, the tallest landmark of the area, rises above the landscape. At the Goreme Open-Air Museum you visit rock-cut churches such as the Elmali, Carikli and Yilanli churches and hear about early Christian life in the region. The route continues to Pasabag, also called Monks Valley, with its fairy chimneys topped by several caps, and to the old settlement of Zelve, before lunch and free time in Avanos, where the suspension bridge crosses the Kizilirmak, the Red River. A pottery workshop introduces a tradition said to be 5,000 years old.
The second touring day drives out to Hacibektas for the Haci Bektas Veli Museum and Mausoleum, then continues with an onyx stone workshop and Devrent Valley, also known as Imagination Valley, famous for its camel-shaped rock. Free time in Urgup allows a look at its stone houses, mansions such as Asmali Konak or local wine cellars, and a photo stop at the Three Beauties viewpoint comes before the visit to Kaymakli, among the biggest underground cities of Cappadocia.
A sunrise hot air balloon flight on the morning of Day 3 and a Turkish Night show in the evening can be added as optional extras; both are subject to availability and paid separately. The tour includes some walking on uneven ground, cobblestones and narrow, low tunnels in the underground city, so comfortable shoes are recommended, and modest dress is advised for the Haci Bektas Veli complex and the Goreme churches.

On arrival at Kayseri or Nevsehir airport, or at Goreme bus terminal, you are met and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is free to explore Cappadocia at your own pace. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.
