Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The evening begins with an orientation walk through the lively Taksim district and Istiklal Avenue, renowned for its energetic atmosphere and historic charm. You will admire the exterior of the iconic Galata Tower and walk down the historic Kamondo Stairs. The route continues across the Galata Bridge, offering views of the Golden Horn, before concluding with a visit to the aromatic Spice Bazaar. The evening closes with a welcome dinner of traditional Turkish dishes, after which you return to your hotel. If you reach the Spice Bazaar after its 19:30 closing time, you see it from outside.
Pick-up is at 08:15 for a guided tour of the Old Town. You first see the 6th-century Hagia Sophia, built under Emperor Justinian, then Topkapi Palace with its jewels, porcelain, sultans' robes and sacred relics (the Harem is extra). After a local lunch you visit the Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmet I, known for its six minarets and Iznik tilework, and the Hippodrome with the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Snake Pillar and the German Fountain. A walk through the back streets leads to the small Sokullu Pasa Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. On Mondays, Tuesdays or Sundays the Basilica Cistern or the Spice Bazaar replaces the closed sites. In the evening, board a yacht for a Bosphorus dinner cruise with Turkish classical music, a belly dance show, Anatolian folk dances, a Romany dance and DJ music, returning to the hotel around midnight.
