My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
6 Days Tunceli City & Cooking Tour: Munzur Valley, Pulumur Waterfalls & Turkish Bath Private Tour
Highlights of the 6 Days Tunceli City, Cooking & Nature Tour
Six days give you the most complete picture of Tunceli, the rugged mountain province of eastern Anatolia. After a transfer from Elazig Airport you settle into one hotel for five nights and set out on four guided days: the historic south, a cooking lesson, a hamam visit combined with Munzur Valley National Park, and the waterfalls, gorges and high mountain of the north. Your final morning is free before the drive back to Elazig Airport.
In the south you visit the Ergen Church in Hozat, an Armenian church of roughly 1,200 years, and Pertek, where the 16th-century Sungur Bey and Celebi Ali mosques were rebuilt on safer ground as Lake Keban rose, and where the 11th-century Mengujekid castle has been an island since the 1974 flooding. The Mazgirt district adds Goktepe Mound and the Urartian Mazgirt Castle with its windmills, and the circuit also takes in the remains of Bagin Castle, the Bagin Thermal Springs and wooded Fairy Water Valley. Day three is spent with a local chef cooking Babuko, Tunceli's signature dish, and a dessert for lunch, followed by shopping in town, and on day four a centuries-old Turkish bath, with a scrub, soap massage and tea, precedes a drive into the protected Munzur Valley National Park.
The North Tunceli day is pure landscape. Kutudere is known for its excellent drinking water and summer swimming in the pools of the Pulumur creek, while Dereova Waterfall, Zenginpinar Waterfall (locally Zageli) together with Karagol Cascade are among the region's favourite natural sights. In the Pulumur Valley the constantly dripping Weeping Rocks turn into ice columns in winter, and Mount Bagirpasa, Tunceli's highest peak, holds a crater lake near its summit. The price includes five hotel nights, five buffet breakfasts and one local lunch, guided tours in English, air-conditioned transport, airport transfers and the listed entrance fees.

Day 1 Arrival - Hozat, Pertek, Mazgirt, Bagin ▾
Upon landing at Elazig Airport, our driver welcomes you and takes you to your hotel in Tunceli. When you have your room key, the day is at your disposal: rest after the trip or wander through Tunceli independently. Your guide will meet you after breakfast tomorrow for the first excursion. Overnight in Tunceli.
Day 2 Hozat, Pertek, Mazgirt, Bagin - Tunceli cooking class and city centre 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast the guide picks you up for the southern circuit. Start at the Ergen Church in Hozat, an Armenian church around 1,200 years old, then travel to Pertek to see the 16th-century Sungur Bey and Celebi Ali mosques, moved away from the old town because of Lake Keban, and Pertek Castle, an 11th-century fortress now standing on an island. Continue to Goktepe Mound and the Urartian Mazgirt Castle with its ancient windmills and views, then the partial walls of Bagin Castle, the Bagin Thermal Springs and Fairy Water Valley. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Tunceli.
Day 3 Tunceli cooking class and city centre - Turkish bath, Munzur Valley National Park 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
After breakfast you are taken to a local restaurant for a professional cooking class. With the chef you taste the many flavours of Tunceli and prepare lunch together, including Babuko, the city's most famous dish, and a dessert, gathering recipes and tips for your own kitchen. After the meal, browse the shops of the city centre at leisure before returning to the hotel. Overnight in Tunceli.
Day 4 Turkish bath, Munzur Valley National Park - Kutudere, Pulumur Valley, Mount Bagirpasa 🍽 Breakfast ▾
Following breakfast, step into a traditional Turkish bath, hundreds of years old, where natural light and coloured tiles set a calm mood. In a waistcloth and clogs you relax under the central dome at up to 50 degrees before the attendant's scrub and soap massage, then unwind with tea in the resting room. Afterwards drive to Munzur Valley National Park, a carefully protected habitat for numerous animals and endemic plants. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Tunceli.
Day 5 Kutudere, Pulumur Valley, Mount Bagirpasa - Tunceli, Elazig Airport 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast head north to Kutudere, valued for its pure drinking water and the natural pools of the Pulumur creek where visitors swim in summer. Continue to Dereova Waterfall, attractive in every season, and to Zenginpinar Waterfall, known locally as Zageli, plus the Karagol Cascade. In the Pulumur Valley see the Weeping Rocks, named for the water that drips constantly from their top and forms ice columns in winter, and take in Mount Bagirpasa, the highest mountain in Tunceli, with its crater lake near the summit. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Tunceli.
Day 6 Departure - Elazig 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast enjoy some final free time in Tunceli. At a time matching your flight, you are transferred to Elazig Airport for your journey home, ending six varied days of history, cooking and mountain scenery.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
