Highlights of the 6‑Day Bartin City & Cooking Tour

Based in Bartın on the western Black Sea, the tour first heads to the harbour town of Amasra. Inside its castle stands the Fatih Mosque, built as a Byzantine church in the 9th century and converted after the Ottoman conquest in 1460. Nearby, the Amasra Museum displays finds from Hellenistic and Roman times through the Byzantine and Genoese periods, and the Çekiciler Bazaar is lined with handmade boxwood spoons, trays and bowls. The day ends with a visit to the natural wonder of Gurcuoluk Cave, the final stop of the itinerary.

The second full day takes you inland to Safranbolu, a UNESCO World Heritage town celebrated for its impeccably preserved wooden‑stone houses. Wander the narrow lanes, admire the distinct haremlik‑selamlık layout, and feel the atmosphere that has drawn travelers for generations. The town’s architecture tells the story of Ottoman prosperity and craftsmanship, making it a living museum of Turkish heritage.

Mid‑tour, immerse yourself in the flavors of the region with a hands‑on cooking lesson where you’ll prepare traditional dishes such as Pum Pum soup, Amasra borek and local ravioli. After savoring your creations, enjoy free time for shopping in Bartin’s city centre. A relaxing Turkish bath experience rounds out the journey, offering a taste of everyday Turkish culture before you depart from Zonguldak Airport.

The trip runs at an easy pace with five nights in the same hotel, so there is no daily packing. Breakfast is included every day and lunch on the Safranbolu and cooking days, with English-speaking guides on all excursions and airport transfers from Zonguldak. It suits food lovers and travellers looking for a quieter, authentic side of Turkey away from the busy coastal resorts.
