My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
4 Days Tunceli City & Cooking Tour: Pertek Castle, Mazgirt and a Babuko Cooking Class Private Tour
Highlights of the 4 Days Tunceli City & Cooking Tour
This four-day programme pairs the history of southern Tunceli with the flavours of its kitchen. Arriving at Elazig Airport, you are transferred by road to your hotel in Tunceli, which stays your base for three nights. A full guided day explores the districts of Hozat, Pertek and Mazgirt, and a second guided day is dedicated to a professional cooking lesson followed by time in the city centre. On the last morning you are free until your transfer back to Elazig Airport.
The South Tunceli tour visits the Ergen Church in Hozat, an Armenian church with a history of about 1,200 years, and then the town of Pertek. Here the 16th-century Sungur Bey and Celebi Ali mosques were dismantled and reassembled on new ground to save them from the rising waters of Lake Keban. Pertek Castle, built by the Mengujekid beys in the 11th century, became an island fortress roughly five kilometres from shore when the Keban Dam filled in 1974. In Mazgirt you see the archaeological site of Goktepe Mound and the Urartian Mazgirt Castle with its old windmills and broad views, while Bagin Castle, thought to be older than the Christian era, keeps only fragments of its walls. The route also includes the Bagin Thermal Springs and the forested Fairy Water Valley, popular with hikers.
On cooking day a chef at a local restaurant introduces you to the tastes of Tunceli and shows you how to prepare Babuko, the city's best-known dish, along with a dessert, which together make your lunch. Afterwards you have free time for shopping in the city centre. The package covers three hotel nights, three buffet breakfasts and one local lunch, guided tours with an English-speaking guide, air-conditioned transport, Elazig Airport transfers and the entrance fees listed in the itinerary.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
