This sixteen-day private holiday is designed for travellers who prefer a relaxed rhythm, with guided tours alternating with free days. It combines Istanbul with the green highlands of the eastern Black Sea, the first Ottoman capital Bursa and two nature escapes near the city, the Princes' Islands and Lake Sapanca. Breakfast is included daily, plus lunch on several tour days.
Istanbul starts with the Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, and a Bosphorus cruise past Dolmabahçe, Çırağan and Beylerbeyi palaces and the Rumeli Fortress, with the view from Çamlıca Hill and visits to carpet, jewellery and leather workshops. A flight takes you to Trabzon for a city tour of the Ortahisar quarter, the Kanuni house, Atatürk's villa, the Hagia Sophia, Akçaabat, Lake Sera and Boztepe, then a day trip along the Fırtına valley to the Ayder plateau with its waterfalls and an old Ottoman stone bridge.
After a free day in Trabzon you move to Uzungöl, the forest-ringed lake, for two nights of fresh air and leisure. Back via Istanbul, a ferry takes you to Bursa, where you ride the cable car up Uludağ, visit the Grand Mosque, the Green Mosque and Green Tomb, the old silk market and the 600-year-old İnkaya plane tree, and taste İskender kebab.
The final days bring a boat trip to Büyükada, largest of the Princes' Islands, a day at Maşukiye village and Lake Sapanca with the Ormania wildlife park (or Kartepe in winter), and a last free day in Istanbul. Domestic flights between Istanbul and Trabzon are not included.

Visit the Hippodrome with its ancient obelisk and columns, the Blue Mosque with its Iznik tiles and Hagia Sophia, famous for its 6th-century mosaics. After a lunch break around 13:00, stop at a traditional store for spices, Turkish delight and souvenirs. Bring a headscarf for the mosques. Overnight in Istanbul.
Pick-up at 08:30 for a boat trip along the Bosphorus past Dolmabahçe Palace, Yıldız, Çırağan Palace, Ortaköy, the Rumeli Fortress and Beylerbeyi Palace. Cross the Bosphorus Bridge, enjoy the view from Çamlıca Hill, then visit a carpet-weaving course, a jewellery and handicraft centre and a leather fashion show. Overnight in Istanbul.
Transfer to Istanbul Airport for your flight to Trabzon and on to your city-centre hotel. Overnight in Trabzon.
Explore the Ortahisar quarter and the historic Kanuni house, Atatürk's villa among the pines and the Hagia Sophia, a masterpiece of Byzantine art. Continue to the green hills of Akçaabat, take a break at Lake Sera and finish at Boztepe Hill with its panorama of the city. Overnight in Trabzon.
Visit a Rize fabric-weaving workshop introducing Laz culture, then follow the tea-covered coast to the Fırtına stream. Continue to a rafting school and up to Ayder, with its waterfalls and free time for lunch and walks. On the way back, stop at an old Ottoman stone bridge over the Fırtına. Overnight in Trabzon.
